HERITAGE OPEN DAYS IN SOUTHAMPTON 2015
SATURDAY 12TH AND SUNDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER
What's happening on Saturday?
· Free guided tour by bus from Tudor House at:
10:30, 12:00, 14:00 & 15:30
(FREE tickets are needed as space is limited to 40 people per tour.
Tickets can be obtained from the reception desk at Tudor House)
· Tudor House is open for FREE
(Saturday 12th September ONLY)
· Visit the World's Oldest Bowling Green
(Heritage Day - Bowling from the 13th Century)
· Free guided tour of Southampton Old Cemetery
at: 11:30 & 13:30
(Located adjoining the Southampton Common)
· Free heritage bus link to the various locations
(Timetable will be available on www.sadtht.co.uk from mid August)
What's happening on Sunday?
· Have a look around SS Shieldhall
(Open 10:00 till 15:00)
· The Southampton Tram Project &
Dunkirk Little Ships workshop will be open
(Which is located near to SS Shieldhall in Dock Gate 4)
· Visit the World's Oldest Bowling Green
(Where a game will be taking place)
· Free heritage bus link to the various locations

Southampton Green Open Spaces Award 2014 1.

The winning park receiving the plaque on 4 September 2014 is Daisy Dip.

 The judges were very impressed with the standards at three other nominated sites and decided to award "Highly Recommended" to all three.

They are:

a) St Mary's Extra Cemetery in Sholing

b) Freemantle Lake Park

c) Chessel Bay Local Nature Reserve

Southampton Green Open Spaces Award 2013

This year first prize has gone to Town Quay Park. 
The commemorative plaque will be unveiled by the Mayor at 11.00 am on Thursday 5th September in the Park.  All SCAPPS members are welcome to attend this ceremony.

At the ceremony, the Mayor will also present the second prize (a certificate) to a representative of Freemantle Lake Park.
